Please give your opinion on different shift kits for the 4R100 (5.4) transmission. Details/price paid would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi 5.4'99,

Since you're alrady running the Superchip, I would suggest using the Transgo shift kits, they work very nicely nad generally have excellent documentation. Most of the Transgo kits have 3 levels you can install them at, and I would suggest starting off withteh lighest level, which they usually call "Police/Taxi". I say this because you can always go back in and open things up some more, but if you go too far the first time, you'll have a heck of a time trying to get it taken care of and shifting tolerably for the street.

Looks like one heck of a truck you have there!

Good luck, whatever you decide.

I agree with Mike, the TransGo shiftkit is the way to go. It really wakes up the truck, but listen to Mike about the settings. If you do decide to get it though, follow instructions to the "T", have plenty of patience, and a clean floor. While I was working on mine one of the few springs you have to take out flew across the garage. After a few choice words, ranting and raving, I found it. Some other kit to consider is the Baumann Engineering kit(hope I spelled that right), I haven't heard too much about this one though.
