I've got a topic on a whistling sound I think is coming from my transmission. I had the blinking overdrive on/off problem too, what about the leak and TSB? Could the leak cause any noise or just the overdrive problem? Where did you go to find the specific TSB, I'd like to read that one.

My friend with a 97 F-250LD, 5.4 with E40D trans had that problem and they replaced the speedo sensor at the transmission and the ABS sensor on the differential.

davidg,

I am not sure what number the TSB is. I will have to ask the Ford service rep when I pick my truck up tonight.

Thumbs down Transmission servo problem......overdrive light was flashing on and off

I took my truck (see signature) in yesterday because my overdrive light was flashing on and off and the service rep told me today that there was a bad servo that lets the transmission fluid in. He said there was a TSB from Ford on this. Just wondering if anyone else had this same problem.

I did a search and found one other subject on the flashing light but there was no follow-up as to the actual problem.
