Is this normal?

All,

This should be my last newbie question for a while.

I have a new 2002 FX4 5.4L (700 miles) and not sure if this is normal. When I accelerate From a stop in first gear I feal a very subtle shake for a moment that occurs about a truck length from the stop and goes away, not a shutter. Otherwise it's normal. Maybe it's the stiff suspension reacting. Am I paranoid?

Thanks for any replys
Pete

How hard are you accelerating? Slowly, 1/4 throttle, half or WOT. If it's a hard acceleration, could be theleaf springs get twisted a little.

I'd say 1/4 throttle will show up. I have'nt WOT yet. In traffic I'm not moving fast enough to tell, that's why I'm hoping it's just the suspension.

Quick update.
Apparantly, the transmission is normal. The service manager drove it this morning and said it shifts exactly like his (he has the same FX4 truck) all others he drove. The transmission guy thinks its the relationship between the transfer case and tranny.
