I'm not exaclty an unbiased source, I designed that kit, but it's the best one made, really. Check out the Lightning Forums, you can see how people like it, it'll work great in any 4R100.

Thumbs up

I got the Factory Tech valve body in my 99 F250LD and it works awesome. Ten times easier than installing a Transgo kit. Greg knows his stuff. It costs more $200 than $100-$120 Transgo, but you can swap it out anytime to go back to stock.

I installed the Transgo and am very happy with it. It's not as easy as just a R&R of the accumulator, but it's not bad at all.....

On the PSP website, for a 98 you would order the 99-02 Lightning kit. The kits are the same from 97 up and 96 down, the older ones require a core exchange.
