sliping

I have a 2001 4x4 supercrew with 3.55 gears and a 5.4. The tranny seems to want to shift into second as soon as I pull out? What's up with that? Also I was pulling a trailer and my tranny jerked and slipped like crazy it was a 7x12 trailer with one Harley in it. I have 17k and I have heard people are having troubles. Anyone know if it's a recall?

the fast upshift to second gear is in the name of trying to up gas mileage...as for slipping, don't know what to tell ya. overall i think the 4r70w tranny is about as good as any other truck tranny out for what it is designed to do...

Checked the fluid level lately?

Ask the dealer to reprogram the computer for tranny shifting.
