Calling Factory Tech: Problem, not sure how to explain it
This was originally posted in engines, but.. after recommendation, I moved it here:
OK, I've got a 97 4x4 auto blah blah, look in sig. but.. here's the deal. It seems that i really have to rev it up to get it to go. like to say... 1200 rpm's. i just drove one of my buddies' pickups this weekend, set up EXACTLY like mine, and it seems to just take off as soon as you touch the pedal. If i'm on a sand road, i really have to hammer the gas to get the tires to break loose. I have an open rear end, just as my buddy's has. it almost seems as though my pickup starts out in second gear. it's not really a problem, it just seems that mine is more sluggish than his is. anybody have any ideas as to what it is? i've changed my tranny fluid and filter, and put synthetic fluid in it. so.. let me hear it.

It has a 4R70W in it (may be an AOD but they're essentailly the same), I don't work on them. Mark Kolvaski (sic?) knows them pretty well, you may ask him.
As for the symptoms, it sounds like a forward clutch seal or seal ring is worn/torn/broken or a snap ring. If it was a 4R100 I'd be better able to help, sorry, I just don't know the 4R70w/AOD very well.
