Thumbs up I did the Tranny fluid change

Yesterday (saturday) i spent all day working on it. Bought 15 quarts of Aamco Mercon from AutoZone and a filter for $55. I started at around 10am and didn't get done till about 4pm lol. My neck is sore, my hips hurt from laying on the concrete and my shoulders are dead But it was worth it. Now, when i shift from Park to R or D, i don't get that jerk that you usually get and the shifts are a whole lot smoother. From what i can tell so far, the TC shudder is gone also.

I did it to try to get rid of the TC shudder. I haven't noticed it coming back yet. It may also be a problem with the tires to, so only time will tell. I think it was definitely worth the time. I knew trying to turn the engine to get the nut on the TC at BDC would be tough, but i didn't now it would be THAT tough. I tried to do it with a 3/8s ratchet and couldn't turn it to save my life, so then I used the 1/2" like the instructions said and that made all the difference. Since i've got the ORP i had to remove the front skid plate to so that i could get to the bottom pulley to turn the engine.

It was worth the time i think.

yeah, it was a heck of a job. Dropping the pan by yourself is scary. I only had a small fluid pan and i was trying to do it slowly do it wouldn't all spill out at once or have the pan just fall off.

I like doing stuff like that though. It just makes you that much more knowledgeable.

Try going to somewhere like Home Depot and get a $5 mortar pan. I have one that covers the tranny plus some and is low enough that it fits under there perfectly. Makes it real nice!
