Angry 4x4 stuck in 4x4low

I'm sure someone has run across this before or this might also be a dead horse, but I now have this problem. I shifted my '97 4x4 F150 in low and went about 100 yards, reversed it, stopped. I then unloaded the back and pulled out about 20 ft and shifted to 2 wheel high. It now stays in 4 wheel low. What's the problem?
Anyone...anyone?

Thanks...

If you have an eltric shift-on-the-fly, I belive you have to shift into netural, then switch to 2wd. If you have a manuel 4wd shift, try same procedure and see what happens.

BTW - Wlecome to the board!!!!

Thing is I've always used the electronic 4wd when changing in the past. I lost the manual, so looking back at it was not an option, hence the post here. lol.

help me find a user manual

I don't have the user manual and like above, I tried signing up with myford.com but since I'm not the original owner it won't let me do it.

is there any way any of you guys can email me the file or post it on the web so I can download some owner manual info. I don't know the meintenance inervals, some basic operations (in and out of 4lo for example-it'll go in 4hi at the turn of the knob but not always in 4lo).

I have the 5.4, Off Road, Tow pkg.

email me at mflueras@hotmail.com

Thanks
