Today I got my transmission oil changed, not the filter, only the oil. Also the oil in the torque converter. They put it on a pressureized machine that I have never seen before. My truck has 36,000 on it and was making a shudder noise at 3 to 4th gear. Most of the people I have talked to told me to try it,I have not put it to the test yet, this weekend I will.I was inside a Ford dealership garage walking around and noticed a F-150 like mine but had a different tranny, the guy told me they make two sizes, how can I tell what kind I have, were can I look on my truck.
Thank's
P.S >> One more thing, how often must you change your gas filter, and is there a special wrench I need.
Look on the sticker on your driver's side door jamb under "trans code". Most ATs are "U" which means a 4R70W. Change your fuel filter at the recommended intervals listed in your owner's manual. A tool is needed and it's available at any auto parts store.
