Transmission vibrates from third to fourth gear.

My transmission makes a vibratation noise when it shifts from third to fourth.It has 42,000 miles on it.Has anyone had this problem.Ford is telling me I should always change tranny oil at 20,000,I told him the book say's check it not change it. Need help please.

You need to change the transmission fluid. Change it every 20,000-25,000 miles or the shudder will return.

If you don't change the fluid you will need to change the torque converter soon. New fluid is cheaper than new torque converters.

Thank's for the advice,isn't that covered in my warranty.It does not say anything about changing the fluid,only inspect it.If there is a noise they take care of it,I thought.Are you talking about changing only the fluid and filter or drain the torque convertor to.

I will be taking my truck in this Monday for that shutter,should this be covered under my warranty.I still don't understand why I should be responsible for changing 15 quarts of tranny oil every 20,000 miles.
