Lightbulb will a new speedo gear really help??

I was pondering really doing this- even though it is simple to do, is it really going to fix my shift points? I have a 98 so I can do it with a simple gear change. ALot of people know useful tidbits but no-one has posted if it really brought all the shift points back to stock... Any input is greatly appreciated as the part is only 6.50.

Thumbs up No physical proof, but...........

I felt that my shift points came back to a more "driveable" state when I changed my speedo gear.

I can't really explain it, but I just know how the truck "felt" before and after.

Before, while driving around town, it just didn't seem to downshift or upshift when I felt it should. On the highway, it also seemed to want to shift out of OD more often.

After, around town is really smooth now. Can slow down and give it gas, and it just seems respond better. On the highway, I can go up the same incline and it won't shift outta OD.

Also, having the speedo show my actual speed, I don't have to guess what I'm doing when my detector goes off.
