Jasper vs Ford transmission

I need a new transmission in my 2008 Screw.

Does anyone have any guidance as to a Jasper vs a Ford transmission?

If price is the same what would you choose?

The shop near me that is a Jasper dealer wants $3400. I'm pretty sure Ford is going to come back with a similar price.

Thanks for any advice you might have.

Ford came back with a price of $4300.....they baked in $400 for "other parts and fluid" that would expect to need as well.
So they're $900 more than the Jasper guy.

Jasper use to be good but they turned into a mass production operation where instead of a true re-man they do "rebuilds'...by just replacing the parts the 'tech" (and I'm using that term very, very loosely) thinks it needs...borderline, it doesn't get changed and you haven't lived until you have gone through one of their "warranty" claim processes.....BS to the max.

IMHO, look for a local tranny shop that you can really trust

Jasper used to be THE name. I live not too far from them and have watched the spiral. A Ford reman isn't much better honestly.

The nice thing about both of these are the warranties they offer. The bad thing is that you are highly likely to have to use the warranty they offer.

Good suggestion above. Find a reputable local shop that has a very good name. Better suggestion is to find someone that many otherrs on herre have used to provide them with a high quality rebuilt transmission and that has a great warranty.

YUP....Jasper has spiraled into the toilet and Ford Remanufacturing is done over the border by a place like Jasper.........NO win.
Go to a good trans shop local to you and get it done.

Thanks for the feedback guys!!!!
I almost went down the road of getting the Jasper but you have changed my mind.
I found a local trans shop with 40+ five star ratings that I will be working with.

Thanks again !!!!
