I have a question concerning a transmission swap from an 2001 F150 4.6 to a 2005 F150 4.6. The trucks are identical in body style and trim level, engine, bed except for the year. The particulars of each vehicle are below:

2001 F150, dual cab, 4.6 engine, Trans code 44U possibly 4R70W?
2005 F150, dual cab, 4.6 engine, Trans code 44B, 44A, looks like the B is a manual, and the A is a 4R75E

The question is this, will the transmission from the 01 4R70W bolt up and work in the 05 4R75E without any issues? The 01 was totaled this morning and I have the opportunity to get the 05 but it has a bad transmission. Not sure if I put enough info in here but if not please let me know. Any thoughts would be helpful.

No, that would not be an easy swap at all due to sensor and electronic differences. It would be a lot easier to get the 05 transmission rebuilt.
