Type of Transmission fluid?

I have a 1994 F150 5.0 4x4 manual 5 speed. Replacing my clutch and have been trying to figure out what type of transmission fluid to replace it with when I have it all back together. Any advice? Autozone gave me automatic transmission fluid, STP DEX/MERC. Does that make sense?

Close, but not exactly what's recommended. ATF that meets Mercon V spec is what you should use.

Yes, the transmission takes ATF, not gear lube.

Perhaps you should include what you are driving, year and model in your question.
