Any clues?

Hello, I recently purchased a 98 f150 4x4. It was running good with no leaks and everything worked. Went mudding last week and the 4x4 was awesome. Finally got around to washing it today and went to the local car wash and pressure washed it. Especially the undercarriage. Drove it 15mi home and it felt sluggish the whole way. Got home and immediately noticed tranny fluid coming out the bottom of the bell housing. Had a friend look at it and he noticed that it was locked into 4wd. The 4x4 indicator wasn't lit. Is there some sensor or sending unit that could have messed up when I washed it? Anyways now I'm locked into 4x4. Was wanting to see if any of yall had a clue about what may have happened and if there's a fix. Any input would be greatly appreciated cause I've only had this truck a couple of weeks and love it.
