No, it isn't a shift solenoid. No shift solenoids are used to shift to reverse.

Thanks. I am disabled and can't afford to take it to a shop. Would a code reader at Auto Zone tell me what I need to know? Also, fluid is full and doesn't smell burned. Truck was a tri-fuel before I bought it, but now is just gas. It has no plumbing for tri-fuel now as I purchased it. Could the E.C.M. programming be wrong?
