Question O/D Shift Lever Replacement

Hey, guys, I just bought another 2002 F150 for $3700. The plastic piece that holds the O/D button came off in my hand. I changed the gear shift lever in my other truck awhile ago and can't find the procedure I used that some of you sent me (strange, I looked on threads on my profile and couldn't find it!!)
Anyhoo, can some one post up a link on complete gear shift lever removal/installation for a 2002 F 150?? Thanks again

I replaced mine on my 99 back in the day. It was pretty simple as I just went into it blind. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure I can go by the seat of my pants without hosing it up. I've been working on vehicles for a lil over 30 years.

I found this.

Ford dealer tech. This is actually pretty easy. First remove the three screws that hold on the steering column cover from the bottom. Remove the bottom half of the cover. Now put the key in the run position. On the bottom of the key cylinder will be a hole with a small button inside. Push this button with a small screwdriver while pulling out the key cylinder. Now remove the upper shroud. You may have to tilt the wheel all the way down. Also it is easier if you remove the trim piece directly above the column. It just pulls off with a little force. Now you can get to the shift lever. Use a pair of wire cutters or pliers and remove the pin. Follow the wire for the lever and disconnect it. Now remove the shifter and install the new one in the reverse order and you are done. Shouldn't take more then 30 minutes the first time someone does this job.
