Hard shift in 2010 f-150 4x4 5.4l

On my truck when I downshift to pass.. sometimes (More than not) it hesitates and when it drops down it slams into gear.. Any thoughts possible fixes??

Check for TSB's.

Dump suggestion, but check your fluid level... Low fluid can cause HARD shifting...

No dipstick on the 6 speed, you have to crawl underneath and pull a plug on the side of the tranny.

I thought the 2010 still used the 4R75E... My bad...

Only the 4.6 2 valve still used the 4 speed.

fluid

The fluid level is good I checked that already, what is the tsb? I put it into the shop and they replaced one coil.

I'd ask for a software reflash. Thats what it might be a software deal..

Did you check it when it was running and the fluid was hot on a level surface

But I would bring it to the dealership and check if theres a modules that need Reprogram. Ive had a lot of customers complain about this and a simple reprogram fixes the concern.
