2004 F150 Transmission shift lever fix

I have a 2004 F150. I went to put my truck in gear and the shift lever just slid from Park to !st gear effortlessly like it wasn't connected. I did some Google searches and found the most likely culprit was the shift cable had come disconnected under the cohttp://i39.tinypic.com/2r3cx6p.jpgnsole/shift lever. I removed the cup holder shift console by applying a little pressure inside the hole where the console lid comes down and latches and pull out/up on the left/right side. Pops right out. The linkage was connected and I could see the cable sliding when I shifted the lever. It was disconnected right at the transmission. There's a cheap plastic bushing that fits inside the rubber grommet that connects to the linkage. After much more Google searching I found someone that had the same problem. Autozone had my part he went to Advanced Auto Parts. Part # 14041. This bushing pack is an exact fit for these trucks (mine is a 2004 F150 Supercrew 2WD center console shift). The correct bushing was the only one with a part # on it and it said "China". I had to push mine into the grommet with pliers and then onto the transmission linkage. Fixed for $5!!
