transmission question

i wanted to know will a 2010 4.6l transmission bolt up to my 2005 4.6l motor? I am getting a slip in third gear and i am feeling it is time to replace it before it gets worse. i found a great deal on a 2010 with 22k on it, but i don't want to waste my money.

Thanks in advance

Even if it bolts up, seems as if I recall that the method of programming is completely different. Check into that.

If it's a 4 speed on a 4.6 2 valve, it may work. If it's a 6 speed on a 4.6 3 valve, forget about it.

thank you guys. its is a 4 speed 2 valve. I am seeing 4th gear just wind out a little too much right before it settles to 2k rpms on the highway. so i am thinking it is time to get a new one.
