tranny issues?

Got a 97 f150 4.6 auto 4r70w 4wd runs great no cel no codes new plugs coils,tps,maf,iat,fuel pressure reg,filter ect...
heres the problem put it in drive step on it no torque like it is @ idle rpms up to 5500 no problem only way to get torque is in 4lo wont even climb a hill in 2hi fluid clean new filter less than 400km ago completely stumped thinking tcc soleinoid or what?
Any help would be great thx

Drop the tranny pan and make sure the filter is properly installed.

Yes! I had the same problem. The filter dropped out of the bore and on hills or under hard acceleration went neutral. Drop the pan and check the fileter.

interesting I will have to do that at the same time I can check the tcc solenoid as well may be pull the valve body and change the accumulators as well as I do not believe it ever has been done truck has 169,000km

Go figure The Filter was in the pan.... Dealer goes I never heard of that before 32 bux for a new filter and all is great now.. time for some more abuse LOL
