'04 150 tranny issues

need help with tranny issues.'04 150 fx4,105k.lost 4th gear w/o any warning.cant find the tag to verify which tranny i have.ran a VIN look-up which lead me nowhere.also tried to match the code from the NHTSA sticker but "b" is not listed in the table in the owners manual for transmission applications.need a good lead to determine the exact tranny i have.also any advice on the best option for repair/replace.will also be doing the 100k maint.(a little late) and was wondering if anybody knows the best fluids to use for diffs. and transfer case.any advice would be helpful,thanks

04 5.4 = 4R75E tranny
04 4.6 = 4R70E tranny

do any of the '04 models utilize the 70w or were they all fitted with the 75e? what was your reference for this info,i'd like to get eyes on before i pursue any of my options.

To be on the save side 100% sure... I would call a dealer and ask them. Your door sticker will have a code for your transmission. The dealer will be able to tell you what the code shows for your transmission model.

it shows "B" for the tranny code on the NHTSA sticker,but like i said earlier that code isnt referenced in the owners manual.i think i will just fold up and let a ford service department handle the issue(just to be on the safe side),but i greatly appreciate the info and help on this,thanks
