2004 Ford F150 FX4 Tansmission Problem??? Or Not

I have a 2004 Ford F150 FX4 w/ 91k miles. I have a "TRANS FAILURE" light coming on briefly and also the O/D light flashes ONLY FOR A SECOND then goes off. It only does it first thing in morning and i am usually in PARK. I checked Fluid and it is bright red and seems to be at the correct level. The truck is running as good as it has been and has no shifting problems. ANY IDEAS???

* Tires are quite warn down - need replacing - could that have something do do with it?

Go to the dealer or a tranny shop and get the codes read. You need a high end scanner to read Ford tranny codes.
