2002 F150 4.6L AT - automatic to manual trani conversion

2002 F150 XLT 2WD long bed (has approx 25,000 miles - don't want to get rid of it) - it has an auto transmission. I want a manual. Trying to find conversion parts (no luck in the Seattle, WA area finding donor vehicles - junkyards etc.). Does anyone know of a company that sells a kit? The truck is just a driver - stock 4.6L with nothing more than a filter and catback exhaust. I just want the manual transmission. Has anyone else done the conversion? Lessons learned?

go to a junkyard find an f150 with a manual tranny, get the trans, clutch master cylinder, and peddles, and go from there. i don't know for sure, but you shouldn't need any computer modifications.

You will have to use a transmission out of another 4.6 2wd truck - a 4.2 trans or a 4x4 trans won't bolt up.

Send a message via AIM to Patman03SprCrw
you will need to retune the PCM for a manual trans. otherwise it will freak out and try to shift the truck and it wont be happy.

My buddy had a shop do the swap on his 2000 Camaro SS from A4 to M6 and it wasnt the same after that, its a lot of work but it is doable
