1995 xlt 4.9 6 cylinder. had transmission rebuilt 2 months ago. 210K miles. new brakes + rotors + drums, shocks, fuel pumps, radiator to bring truck back to life. had been sitting for about 2 years.

PROBLEM: when coming to a stop the truck violently shudders and stalls. put it in park and starts right up. after the truck has run for a while (30 minutes) the problem disappears. took it back to transmission shop - who has a good reputation, seems well run, clean etc. owner test drove to duplicate problem and has put in a call to a transmission shop owners network he belongs to.

has anybody heard of this and have any initial thoughts to start troubleshooting? thanks for any help.

I would first look at both the IAC and EGR valves.

I removed the other thread you started on this same subject in the other forum. We find that duplicate threads or posts on the same subject often lead to confusing responses that can waste your time.
