I have one. It works OK for the money. It does firm up your shifts which is what it is designed to do. Be careful who you order it from, there are some places selling knock off plates so make dam sure it is a "Factory Tech" if that is indeed what you want.

Do a search. There a a couple of threads you may want to read. One lists the various spring combinations for the accumulators.

I will mention that if I had to do it all over again that I would go with the Troyer valve body. I was looking at those first and got sidetracked by the price and promises of the same performance.

There are no "knock off" plates. There are plates I had cut that work just fine for what they were designed. They were exact OEM clones of car plates that can be modified for performance. A plate change on any 05/06+ transmission is pointless. The factory hole sizes on the late ones were much larger and the plates from both sources are not designed for them. In all honesty the pre01 plates are long gone. Anyone thinking the plate should be thicker than factory is dead wrong. The plate is sandwiched between the case and valvebody. Thicker increases the possibility of problems.
I cut mine in OEM thickness for a reason. The only reason anyone carried on is because I have an internet stalker who likes to follow my posts, bashing my work and sending you to a vendor that buys from him. Poor business I know, but it is the way he likes it.
I'm sure he will show up.....

First of all I ended up putting all the factory springs back in because I tow a 19' travel trailer and I wanted firm shifts not hot rod shifts. I did this before the Gryphon was added.

For me the shifts with the canned tow tune (level 2) with the plate were way, way too firm. I ended up adjusting the shift firmness down to -10, -10 and -8 just to make it more towing friendly. It worked well until my custom tunes came in. I emailed Bill and told him what I was after shift wise and he took a lot of the firmness out of my custom tune. I am running my custom towing tune as he sent it and so far it works well. I have not tried the custom 87 performance tune yet and probably won't until towing season is over.

I always wondered how the seperator plate would work with the stock springs in place

The hardest part of the whole swap is removing the snap ring on the 1-2 accumulator but if you leave the factory springs in then you won't have this headache.

The springs in the accumulator are keeping it pushed down against the snap ring with considerable force. If you have a bottle jack and a deep socket balance on top of the bottle jack it will hold it up for you while you work the snap ring off. I used a floor jack to do mine but be careful you don't scab anything up when jacking it up and watch it does not shoot out from under it when you do have it up.

First of all holy crap what a mess!

I have the control body taken apart with the old separator plate off.

I can't tell a difference when I put the old and new plates together and compare them...

The directions that Factory tech sends suck to say the least. I'm taking a bunch of pictures and maybe I'll do a write up after I get everything back together.

I'll also post up some pics of what I have so far tomorrow.
