Transmission Shifting problem

Hi All
New to this forum and have a problem with Transmission shifting.
First here is the problem, about a week ago I blew a Transmission line on the way to work, not knowing the line broke I ran the truck until it stopped working, found and fixed broken line, pulled tranny pan and replaced the filter/screen. Now the truck is not shifting right just before the tranny shifts the truck acts like I slam on the brakes and bogs down the truck, then the problem goes away just as fast as it starts?? I do not drive the truck as I don’t want to break something, I have been told the problem is in the solenoid that shifts between first and second gear.?? Is this the problem?? And how do I fix this?
Would a shift kit fix this?

2001 F150 XL
4x2
4.2L V6

Is the overdrive light blinking?

I'm afraid you may have burned something out running it out of fluid.
