Exclamation My Truck dies when i put her in gear

Hey Guys, I have a 1983 Ford F150 with a 351w and a C6 auto 4x4 trans and it dies when i put it in any gear but will idle in park or neutral, I have replaced the torque converter and it didn't help a bit please help

I think you are looking in the whole wrong place. That's a problem with whatever controls the idle speed on that engine, not a transmission or torque converter problem.

I have adjusted the idle speed to about 1200 and no change i think the tranny is done for but i don't know.

you have a stuck on torque converter lock up valve. if you pull the valvebody off trans and inspect the valves you will most likely find the spool stuck in its bore to the apply side. it is also possible that the gasket is damaged, or valve body is loose allowing a cross feed to tq circuit from another source.
i unfortunately dont have a picture of a c6 valve body handy. there is a few other possible areas that could cause this, but are less likely than the spool, of gasket/valvebody. if the pump has a crack into the stator support it can leak high pressure oil into the tq causing the lockup, but generally the pump fails very soon after this happens.
