08 Transmission Problem - Hunting or Searching

It's my brother's 2008 Supercrew 5.4L with 7,000 miles
At exactly 30 mph under light throttle, it shifts from 2nd and there is a 1 second hesitation before it goes into 3rd.
The dealer couldn't find anything nor could they replicate it.

Anyone experience this or know whats going on?

It's also got a shake coming from the drivers side front area...

Pester the dealer. Go with him on test drive. MAKE them fix while under warranty.

It's probably right at the point where the TC is deciding whether to remain unlocked or locked?? Since it's all computer controlled and the computer does not know what the exact driving conditions are at that moment in time, it's possible that it's right on the edge of doing either?

Is it a 4, 5 or 6 speed trans?

Did your brother drive it during the test drive or was it the tech?

The vibration is probably an out of balance wheel up front? Or the OEM tire being out of round?

Hell, it's a brand new rig and it's just working out it's new car bugs.....

Just my thoughts on it.... Having never driven one of the newer F150's I'm only yakking out of my a$$ really!

I'm going to suggest that someone take a ride with me to experience it next time.
It was a technician that drove it and couldn't replicate it.
I'm not positive, but I think its the 4 speed. I think the powertrain is the same as mine but he has the Flex fuel engine and 3.55 gears.

The dealer rotated and balanced all the tires, and it feels worse now, but its still coming from the front drivers side.

Annoying little problems...

I think i'm having the same problem..ive noticed it at 1100 rpm, if i keep it there, just barely touching the throttle, it can happen 5-6 times in the time it takes to travel one street. There's only 29k on it. I'm going to ask my local dealer about it also, if u find ne thing out please post it and good luck

I'm in the South Western part, near Holiday World. My brother is near Columbus.

Very light on the thottle is when it happens most of the time, although I experienced at 1/4 throttle 3 times in 3 blocks.
Will be another week or two before I'll get it to the dealer again.

I am going to be at Holiday World Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. If we can work out meeting up I would like to drive the truck and see if I can help you diagnose it.

Feel free to call me at 317-514-0816 if you are interested and the timeframe works out.
