Removing transfer case from Mazda 5-speed

I'm replacing the slave cylinder on my 1992 F-150 that has the Mazda 5-speed and the 4.9 L six. I have the six bolts that hold the transfer case to the adapter out, but now how do I separate them? I put several of the bolts back in partially and tried prying on them to force the transfer case away from the adapter, but there is no visible movement. Any suggestions?

I thought of removing the transmission and transfer case as a single unit, but decided to follow the Ford manual and separate them before removal.

Thanks for any help.

Fred

You have 17 years of corrosion holding them together. I would use flat chisel between the two. Gently tap it with a hammer while moving it around the perimeter.
