Squeaking

Hey has anyone ever had or heard of this problem... when im driving there is a squeak coming from my rear end... i think it might be my 4 wheel but im not sure... anyone ever had or heard of this problem and has any ideas on how to fix it... trying to keep away from my mechanic... dont need another bill... could it be my driveshaft or something that needs to be greased and clues or suggestions please and thank you.

Squeaking is often a universal joint telling you it's about to fail. Take the driveshaft out and I bet you'll find one or more u-joints that are bound up.

Send a message via Yahoo to easterwabbit
if its a constant sqeak that speeds up as you speed the truck up then yeah u joint is dry and toasted
common issue on any vehicle
i replace quite a few a month for myself and others, working on them on my 78 c-10 driveshaft right now i am cutting down and re-welding together(putting in longer tranny)

good luck
