Unhappy New truck problems

So, i just purchased a 2005 f150 Fx4 and i am having some problems. it almost feels as if my first gear stutters when i accelerate. almost feels as if i am driving over a rumble strip or my back tires are skipping ( i know that isnt it). when i slowly accelerate, it doesnt do it. also, it kinda feels worse when i accelerate and turn at the same time or am driving up a hill. all of my other gears seem fine. when i took it for a test drive, the mechanic said it could be because it is geared low and that it could be a ford thing. i am having trouble believing him. any suggestions on what it could be?

Sounds like it could be the clutches binding in the rear diff. Thats been a problem in these trucks. That is exatly what my truck started doing and I had the diff oil changed and a friction modifier added and it hasent done it since. $120.00 for oil and labor is alot cheaper than the $500.00 to replace them.

do you know what transmission is in it? not sure if they still used the 4r70w in 2005, but i had a car with that transmission that did the exact same thing. those transmissions had a problem with torque converter shudder. a fluid flush should take care of it. in my case, i was still in high school and didn't have money for the flush. i bought a tube of 'dr. tranny's instant shudder fix' from carquest for about 5 bucks, put it in the trans and within 200 miles the shudder was gone. drove that car for another 25,000 miles or so before i blew the engine.
