Question Jiffy Lube with pennzoil

What does evryone think about taking my truck to JL to get transmission fluid exchange. They quoted me about 75 less then Ford but they use pennzoil and i havent heard about anyone using this fluid. Thanks

I would stick with the dealership. It's only $75. Who knows what those clowns at Jiffy Lube will screw up.

Yeah, I would not be concerned with the Pennzoil, but the clowns are another matter.

I've heard some of them charge you but don't actually do the work.

If I took mine to a jiffy Lube, I would stand there with my truck and keep an eye on the entire procedure.

Yes, personally, I do. Some may disagree, but I think Pennzoil is a quality product. Just make sure they use the correct fluid for your year of truck. I forget what that is, check the manual. You just have to watch those guys, they work on all different brands and some have no clue to start with. That is not to say that a dealership is fool proof, but at least they are working with mostly Fords. I once had to argue with a service manager that my 2005 5.4 took 7 quarts of oil. Twice, they have put only 6 quarts in it with an oil change. I always check it before driving off.

I would also question the fluid they put in. It has to be Mercon V, not something that states it is a substitute.

Thumbs down

If you take your truck to Biffy Boob then you deserve anything that happens to it!

Whoever does it you need to make absolutely sure that they use Mercon V regardless of the brand.
