shifting trouble after towing in od

my wife and i were taveling new mexico towing a travel trailor, after stopping for fuel we took off and drove for a little over 100 miles before realizing I didn't turn off the over drive. Now when I shift from reverce to drive or drive to reverce it takes along time to engage. Also when climming a hill and it needs to downshift it slips and sometimes dosn't make the shift. Did I mess this thing up big time or what. Help!

ck the condition of your trans fluid. You probably burnt it and a trans flush might save it if you get it done ASAP. Let us know what you find out.
