4R70W 01 4wd have converter drain plug
I'd like to change out the fluid in my trans for my 01 5.4L 4wd. does this trans have a drain plug for the torque converter?

yeah i think all 4R70W's have one ull have to spin the crank to find it good luck i couldnt get mine lol but i know its down there you should have a rubber gromet on the bottom of the bellhousing and then spin the crank with a 1/2" drive i think its an 18MM on the crank to spin it. Good luck

Not all 4R70W's have a plug. They discontinued them in late 2001 production, so the OP may or may not have one.

ah i did not know that its one of those things cut off in like mid year of production im assuming? so if your truck was made before june you prob have it if it was made after it prob dont have it? im guessing

Hey shifty, are you saying that my 99 has a plug then? My bellhousing has fluid residue all over it my converter feels weak.

Yes,your converter has one.

Yes, your converter has a plug, unless it's been replaced with a factory reman. Those don't have plugs.

Actually they stopped installing the drain plug very early in 2002 production, so all 2001 4R70Ws should have one.
