Shift Kit Tuner or both

I was wondering if any one was using a shift kit for there truck or if using the tuners is the best way to go. I have a 2007 screw 4.6l 2wd I need some power and better shifting I hate the way these shift. Thanks for your input.

They both work well but tuners make the shifts firmer by raising the line pressure in your transmission. It can lead to premature transmission failure. For that reason I prefer mechanical shift kits. I have a Factory Tech Separtor Plate kit which is basically the same thing. It is just OK. I went through a huge hassle just to get what I wanted. Do a search if your interested. Knowing what I know now I would get the Transgo shift kit or the reworked valve body from Troyer.

I've got an 05 and have a modded valve body and a tuner. I love it! The truck on WOT will hit very hard. It mimics popping the clutch in a manual trans.

Find a friend and ride in their truck who has a shift kit. They are not for everyone. The 1st-2nd shift, in daily traffic, can really bug some people.

Like Grizzstang said, excessive line pressure is really not a good thing at all.

Give Troyer Performance a call. They can set you up with the right combo. It is said that nobody knows the F-150 trucks like Mike Troyer.
