2007 Screw at the Dealer for Some Warranty Work

My 2007 Screw 4x4 had been making a whistling noise under acceleration for a week or so and I was finally able to take it to the dealer last Friday.
I got a call back about an hour after I dropped it off and was told that there was a bearing in the transmission that was bad and they were going to tear down the transmission and replace the bearing and see if there were any other issues.
It is now Tuesday and I am hoping to get the truck back this afternoon, but was just wondering if anyone else had heard of a similar problem/issue.

This should be done under warranty. You're not paying for it, right?

My first question after I was told of the problem was "this is covered by warranty, right?"
Yes, it is being covered by warranty.
It just seemed like a pretty big issue on a somewhat new truck.

Send a message via ICQ to Klitch
remember, there is a possibility to get a bad, brand new part. this includes bearings, and ford is not exempt from this. or they may have something out of round, who knows

Yeah, that's a big deal for a new truck. Certainly not common from my recollection. I can't even recall having that issue with an old truck.
