shudder at low speeds 2-7 mph

1999 4.6 automatic

noticed yesterday in walmart parking lot while pretty much ideling up to the parking spot at around 2-7 mph felt like instead of rolling smooth it was shuddering type roll. hope someone knows what I mean. What is this? torque convertor shudder? is it ok or am i in trouble?

It is not torque converter shudder. It won't shudder at a speed that low. A bad u-joint can do this.

it could be somethin in the front end such as ball joints tie rod ends somethin like that or it could be the first gear band sliping in the tranny check the fluid and what not and put the front end up on a jack and check the movable components to make sure there not loose

well with 166k on the clock. I know that the BJ's are bad cause I already checked them. Couldnt hurt to throw in a new set of greaseable UJ's either. And I dont wanta hear about bands being bad either! I just got this truck a week ago today!
Maybe I will drain the convertor and put a new screen and gasket in with new fluid and some friction modifier.
