Hand Shifter Conversion Kit for Handicap Person

My wifes sister has a degenerative hip disorder and is in a siginificant amount of pain. She has an older ranger that has a clutch. Her hip is so bad that she cannot depress the clutch any more. She also cannot afford to buy a new vehicle because of an impending surgery. Is there any company that offers a hand shifting coversion kit that any of you know about?

Theoretically, it should be easy to do - but I am not sure there is a big market for these. I have tried a search on the internet, but couldn't find anything. Just thought I would check the braintrust here .............

My old man had a brother who was in a wheel chair due to Polio, they had a conversion done here in San Rafael. I am sure you could call them and see if they know of anyone, or if they could ship you the needed material.

North Coast Mobility (415) 927-0111

good luck to you bud. I am sure they can direct you to anything you might need.

If you don't find what you are lookign for let me know. A buddy of mine cannot move his legs and has converted his three vehicles to hand control.
There is a company here in the cincinnati area for sure. All major cities should have one.
