Truck Is Hesitating

98 Ford F-150, 4.6 engine.

I'm experiencing what i can only describe as hesitating issues when i accelerate while i'm parked or while driving. At times it seems like it wants to choke when i make right turns. I went to Autozone and got an error of P0300 which is random mis-fire. I have changed my spark plugs about two years ago and changed out the boots about 8 months ago. I also changed out the fuel filter around the same time i changed the spark plugs. I used to have this problem before 8 months ago when i got a P0307 message and was experiencing the same issues; which is why i changed out the boots. I wasn't having a problem until just recently.

I'm not sure what to do or check at this point. Any suggestions?

Take your coil paks off and have them checked at AutoZone.

Yea I would def have a mechanic check your O2 Sens. That's probably where your problem is going to be!

Doesn’t sound like a transmission problem. He said it hesitates while driving or parked so it sounds more engine related. If it was slipping I would say transmission. O2 sensors send the computer a voltage reading depending if the exhaust gasses are rich or lean in closed loop. Then the computer determines how much fuel to add or subtract. If the o2 sensor is worn and weak it might send a slow signal which could cause hesitation, poor fuel economy, and higher emissions. A worn O2 sensor wont always throw a code so you need to monitor the o2 sensor voltage to see how its performing.

Hope this helps
John
