will i be stuck in OD or 3rd?????

i want to lop off the end of my shifter and put a skull shifter knob on there, but im afraid i will be stuck in 3rd gear. when you press the OD button to take it out of OD does it send a signal to the tranny or cut a signal to the tranny, making it go into 3rd? i went to a junkyard and ripped a shifter off and dismantled it and found the fuse/relay in the end of it with 3 wires running down the shifter. my skull shifter has a button that makes the eyes light up red. i would love if i could make that my OD button but it uses a battery and im not smart enough to do that kinda battery/fuse/relay stuff.

With the OD button removed the trans will operate in 1,2,3, and 4. Without having the OD light there, if the PCM finds a problem with the transmissions you won't get a warning.

find a wiring diagram and study it. i think it could be done. it would be awesome to click the overdrive off and have the eyes light up.

see if you can gut the end of the shifter and stick those internals into the skull so everything functions okay.
