Question 91 F150 stuck in reverse

I have a 91 f150, 5.0 with mazda 5 speed tranny, It has been sitting for over a year, and I am once again trying to get it on the road. I had the clutch kit replaced, to find out it was a twisted shaft in the tranny, so over the last couple days, I put in a used tranny from the scrap yard. Now that it is in, with everything hooked up, it will not come out of reverse, hyd clutch is bleed, and I have good peddle, with clutch pressed, it disengages, but I cannot get it out of reverse, any advice would be greatly appreciated

so even with the engine off its stuck? does it move in rev with the engine on

id say first pull the top cover and check to see if its the shift linkage or the sliding collar or gear/sycro

it might just be in the top cover/linkage and you could use your top cover off your old trans good luck
