I ran 3.55's and 33"s for a few weeks after the lift but before the 4.10's & tune. It was kind of a dog after the tires on a 4.6, but I didn't recalibrate anything either until the tune and new gears. It took me back up and over the OTL speed I had with stock gears and tires. I had a shop install the gears and new LS at the same time. I saw what my buddy went through when he did his ranger and thought the $ was worth having it done right.

My '99 came from the factory with 32" (265/70-17) tires and 3.55 gears, so you'll be just fine with 1" taller tires (33") with that gear ratio.

You can do it but you would have to regear soon after just so you dont risk the life of your tranny.

I recently got the 35's and I haven't been able to drive the truck alot lately so at the time I really cant answer that but I dont think it should be a significant difference at IMO.

I run (actually swap between and stock size) 33x13 TSL's, swapping back and forth with my stock 255/75. I got 3.55 with a truetrac, but I have the 4.6, so I'm not lovin the ratio with the bigger tires. When I trun 18, I might have enough cash to do a gear swap, and was thinkin id go with 4.56, since i pull horsees, boats, snowmobiles, etc, and its a standard, so the extra low for the dead pulls would help a lot.

So how much has it costed everyone for their gear swaps, because I'm expecting it to be around $1500, and I don't know if that is close or not.

Sounds too high unless they are real high end gears. Should be about $800-900.
