Adjusting the pressure plate.

Im droping the tranny today to replace the rear main seal. My question is if the tranny was brand new 8000 miles ago and i put a brand new clutch in at the same time mated up to a brand new flywheel, Will i have to adjust the pressure plate all the way out so it can adjust back to where it is. I wouldn't think i would have to since it should be close to the top of the adjustment as it is pretty much new.

What do you guys think.

I don't know how you would adjust a pressure plate. Hydraulic clutches are self adjusting as far as I know.

U put it in a press and push on the flex plate and then screw a ring as far as it goes. Then it adjusts to your flywheel after a couple of shifts. ITs self adjusting. The manuel states that you "should" do this.

Don't touch the adjustment. There is no need to do so unless you are installing a new clutch or disk. Just reassemble the parts as you took them off.

When in need find a deep socket that will fit the pilot bearing and wrap tape around the other end of it till it is fat enough to just fit in the splines on the disk. I think a 10mm 3/8 inch is what I used.

I used to use a cut down broomstick for an alignment tool.
