Mag Hytec Trans Pan & Diff Cover?

Are the Mag Hytec Transmission pans & Differential covers really worth the money performace wise or is it just for looks? Does anyone know the part numbers for a Trans pan & Differential Cover for my truck? 2005 F150 2WD

They hold more fluid than stock so it will stay cooler. I personally got mine for looks.

The diff pan probably does help cooling because the diff doesn't have anything except the housing to heat transfer. The trans is a different matter. It has one or two coolers, and they are WAY more efficient at cooling than any pan could be. Additional fluid doesn't help cooling, it just makes it take longer to heat up. But once it does heat up it takes longer to cool off because there is more fluid.

If you want to cool the trans replace the stock air to oil cooler with a better one.

Heck yea they are worth it. I agree with Marks comments except I would argue that all the additional fluid in the tranny may not aid cooling but it will surely aid fluid life. The trans pan will however offer some (even if minimal) cooling benefits due to the raised ribs on the pan...basic physics, more surface are and all!!!

There's also the added benefit of a drain plug on both, which you currently don't have on either. IMO, there is no better quality cover or pan on the market.
