Diagnosing 4x4

Still have never seen any light shown on my problem. Lets try again.. My electronic(aka PIECE OF FAWKING ****) 4x4 does not work. this truck is going up for sale soon, and I dont want to pass this problem on to the next owner. I flip the switch, no lights, no clicks, nothing. Just the A4WD light on the dahs blinks, nothing engages, nothing. How do I got about finding the source of this problem, 98 expy

You need a scan tool capable of pulling the codes from that subsytem and capable of reading the needed PIDs. Plus, you need the service diagnostic routine.

Here's the introduction for your stated symptom:

Quote:
o The A4WD Indicator Flashes When the A4WD Mode Is Selected

Possible Source(s):
§ A4WD clutch relay/circuit.
§ Hall effect speed sensors/circuits.
§ Transfer case electric clutch.
§ 4WABS module/circuit.
§ GEM.

Action(s) to take:
§ GO to «Pinpoint Test A».
If you have the needed scan tool, I can provide the diagnostic.

A4WD acts as an all wheel drive system and when certain wheels are spinning it gives the opposites power to turn. some thing like that. Nothing happen when I turn to 4H or 4L, no clicks, no lights, nothing
