Question 4X4 Transmission

I have a 1998 F150 Off Road 4X4. When using 4H on the fly do you still have to come to a complete stop to change to 2 wheel drive by putting it into neutral? Also is it still required to back up in a straight line to disengage?

Depends on what you want to do. Have you read the owner's manual? There should be an abbreviated set of instructions on the back of the driver's visor.
