4x4 not working

i tried my 4x4 yesterday and it wouldnt engage, i checked the mega fuse under the hood and the small fuse under the dash and they are both good. i also tried 4lo and it would click in and reduce the gear ratio to the back tires only? the light for the 4x4 wont come on either, any suggestions? hopefully this is an easy fix
