Switching from 4x4 back to 2x4....

I'm new to the F-150's. I just recently bought my truck. So please bare with me...

On the way home, I stopped the truck completely and switch it to 4L just for kicks as I drove into my apartment building complex. Once I stopped I switched it back to "2" something. To put it back into 2 wheel drive. But on the dash it still says "4x4 Low". I turned the truck's ignition off and on and it still has the "4x4 Low" on the dash.
Why is it still showing that?
Thanks guys!

I replied on your other post, to shift in or out of 4 low, you have to have the truck on, stopped, and in nuetral.

Next time you start the truck and shift slowly from P to D it will switch back into 2Hi. It should have switched when you shifted from D into P and turned off the ignition.

I hope it was gravel or loose dirt.
