First I want to say , I love this forum...
Hope someone can help me out a bit.
My truck keeps going into limp mode. Its 1993 f150 5.8 e4od 4x4.
I get a code for VSS , i changed it with dealer part and put a new connector on it. I still get the code (erratic reading) I also changed the fluid in the diff.
At times it will go fine then jump into limp mode.Shifts hard and stalls at idle in drive... Sometimes I can shut the truck off and restart and it corrects itself , others , It will just correct itself while driving. Its very frustrating. Another symptom is I stall in reverse very often. Sometimes reverse works fine and is strong , others , it has no power and bogs to stall.
I have cleaned and greased the connector to the mlps. Something else is that sometimes it will not start in neutral and other times it will.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated , I am about ready to start throwing parts at it , but everytime I do that I end up replacing everything except what it needed...
